I’m compelled to make art, whatever that means. Flexing creative muscles in everything I do, from running my business to making biscuits, art becomes less about things, and more about process. And the point of it is transformation. I feel that the most profound way that I can create the kinds of transformations that I can think of is to invite other people to meditate with me, and to explore new ways of doing it, with the goal being an unexpected outcome.
Unexpected outcomes are always present in any effort, but to make that the whole point of your process is to sit comfortably in the unknown, to embrace it in a way that I and many people I know don’t often, or can’t often do. Our lives are mired in illusions of control, and so to sit with the intention of not knowing gives us access to a deeper way of knowing.
